Wickaninnish Inn

Tofino - Vancouver Island - Chef Andrew Springett, Chef de Cuisine at the Wickaninnish Inn is inviting the world to what he considers to be the “epitome of Tofino life”. He wants one and all to experience a real crab cookout on the beach, west coast style.

Guests of the Wickaninnish Inn on Vancouver Island will be pampered by the culinary team of the Pointe Restaurant at a charming and intimate beach dinner featuring locally caught Dungeness crab. This made-to-order meal is served on Chesterman Beach, just steps away from the elegant Wickaninnish Inn.

The crabs are cooked in lightly salted water, with just a hint of lemon, over an open fire pit. The Chef expertly prepares the crabs to perfection and then dishes up the main course, straight from the pot to the plates of the waiting guests at this “upscale” picnic event. Chef tells us, “You get drawn butter for dipping, salads for munching and to top off the evening, you get a little something for your sweet tooth, straight from the pastry kitchen of the Wickaninnish Inn.” Local and organic products are used almost exclusively for this meal.

The cookout is held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the summer.
