Weekend reservations are for a minimum of 2 days. Holiday weekend reservations are accepted for 3 days minimum. Reservations are accepted on the second Monday in May through Labor Day. Most cabins may be rented from June—Sept., for 1-week minimum rentals. Herrington Manor and New Germany allow one additional occupant over the rated capacity, while Elk Neck and Martinak allow two additional persons. Janes Island allows no additional persons over the rated capacity. You must register with the park ranger even if your have reservations.
Reservations: can be made 1 year in advance of arrival. Reservations can be made directly with the park Monday-Friday.
Occupancy begins at 5 pm on the first day and ends at 10 am on the final day. You must register with the park upon arrival with the names and addresses of all cabin occupants. If unable to arrive at specific time, call the park. Quiet time is from 11 pm to 8 am. Disorderly persons will be ejected from the cabin and park. No pets allowed.
Mini Camper Cabins: This is a new cabin concept for New Jersey State Parks. Many parks have these currently under construction, but call ahead to see if they are available. They rent for $40 night on summer weekends and holidays and $30 night weekdays.
CAMP MISTY MOUNT

Camp Misty Mount is within Catoctin Mountain Park, a part of the National Park Services. To get to the camp from Thurmont, take US Route 15, follow MD 77 W for 3 miles. At the visitor center turn right onto Park Central Road. The camp, which is 1 mile from the visitor’s center, offers rustic family cabins with single beds and mattresses, central shower and toilet facilities. No utensils or linens are provided. The cabins are rented from mid April—Nov. 1. No vehicles in cabin area. Fire circles at each cabin. The 2 cabins sleep 4. The lodge sleeps 8. Make checks payable to CAMPER/Camp Misty Mount. One cabin is wheelchair accessible.
CUNNINGHAM FALLS STATE PARK

The 4,946-acre park is about 15 miles N of Fredericks. Cunningham Falls is a 78-foot cascading waterfall in a rocky gorge in the scenic Catoctin Mountains. The park features shaded glens, mountain streams, winding trials and a scenic lake. There are two separate recreation areas. The Manor Area is located on US Route 15, offering picnicking, camping, playground and a reservable shelter. The William Houch Area is 3 miles west of Thurmont, off Route 77, on Catoctin Hollow Road, and is the site of the 43-acre lake. Swimming, fishing and boating, hiking and picnicking and camping are in this area.
The park offers fishing, camping, boat rental, launching ramp, swimming, camp store, hiking, picnicking and nature programs. Nearby is Catoctin Mountain National Park, which has a visitor’s center.
The park offers four 12’ x 18’ rustic cabins with a rated capacity of four persons to a cabin. They are equipped with a double bed and bunk beds. Each has electrical lights and outlets. Linens are not provided at these cabins. Bring a Coleman sleeping bag. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. Cabin campers receive a free bundle of firewood. All cooking must be done outside the cabin. A washhouse with hot water and flush toilets is nearby. Check-in time is between 3-10 pm and check out time is 1 p.m. There is a minimum of 2-night stays on weekends (Fridays and Saturdays).

This park offers fishing, boating, swimming, hiking and a nature program in summer. Rowboats, motorboats, and jet ski rentals are available.
There are 9 cabins that are of board and batten construction, each sleeping 4 persons. The cabins each have a living room, dining room, table, chairs, kitchen with range and sink, no hot water. There are 2 bedrooms, with 2 single beds in each. There is a central bathhouse with hot water. Electricity and lights. A central washhouse has hot and cold running water, flush toilets, showers and washtubs. Bring your own utensils, and food.

This park offers swimming, hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing and scheduled nature programs. There are boat, canoe, fishing and bicycle rentals.
The park has 20 log cabins with capacities of 2, 4, and 6 persons. There are two 6-person cabins that are handicapped accessible. The cabins have fireplaces or woodstoves, with wood provided. There is a full kitchen with a range and refrigerator, a dining room and a living room in each cabin. You must provide your own linens. Boats, canoes, fishing poles, cross-country skis and bicycles can be rented. There are limited number of strollers and cribs and highchairs for rent. Bring your own wood, and food.

There are 3 bedrooms in each cabin. Cabins are open from March—December. Each has AC, fireplace, heat and screened porch. Bring your own utensils.

This park, rich in Indian lore, is located 2 miles S of Denton, off Rt. 404.
The park offers hiking, fishing, boat launching area, but no boat rentals. No fishing license is required. Tuckahoe State Park is nearby with fishing, boating and trails.
There is 1 cabin for rent at Martinak with a capacity of 4 persons. The cabin has a living room, 2 foldout couches, lamps, tables and chairs. The kitchen has a range, refrigerator, sink, table and utensils. There is a bedroom with 2 single beds, a nightstand and chest. There is a queen sized sofa sleeper in the living room. NEW GERMANY STATE PARK

The park is located 5 miles SE of Grantsville in the heart of the Savage River State Forest.
The park once was a prosperous milling center for sawmills and gristmills, and the 13-acre lake was formed by early sawmill activity. The Savage River State Forest is Maryland’s largest forest.
The park offers trout fishing, hiking, and cross-country ski trails. Boats may be rented at the park, and there is a summer interpretive program.
The 11 log cabins are equipped with electricity, gas stoves, water heaters, electric refrigerators, bathrooms with showers, china, cooking utensils, bedding and fireplaces. Wood is provided. The cabins, located in a pine-hemlock stand of trees, range from a 2 to 8 person capacity. There are four handicapped accessible cabins.
The park offers cross-country skiing at a fee of $3 per person per day.

POCOMOKE RIVER STATE FOREST

The forest encompasses 14,000-acres in the Worcester County, between Shore Hill and Pocomoke City. The forest is famous for its stand of loblolly pine trees. Cypress swamps border the river. And the nearby waters provide good fishing. Two areas in the forest, including the swamp, are designated Wildlands Areas.

The 1,082-acre park is on the southern tip of St. Mary’s County, at the junction of the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay. Reached by MD Route 5.
Point Lookout is nationally important as the site of a Civil War prison, which housed Confederate soldiers.
The park offers a beach house for rent. Call for reservation directly with the park.

New Germany is nestled in a natural saddle created by Evitts Mountain and Martin Mountain. The park offers mountain scenery, and interesting hiking trails. There are three swimming beaches and a bathhouse, near the 243-acre lake, and a modern campground.
The park offers boat launching, boat rentals, camp store, concession, interpretive programs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, three swimming beaches, a 243-area lake and fishing and hiking trails.
The park has one chalet that has three bedrooms, overlooking Lake Habeeb. The chalet is furnished and sleeps up to 8 persons. The price of this chalet includes the use of a rental boat and access to park facilities and activities. Two night minimum rental on weekends, three night minimum on holiday weekends.
