MOHAWK TRAIL STATE FOREST

The forest offers 6,457-acres of timberland and miles of marked trails. Horseback riding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, fishing and swimming are a few of the many attractions. Hike to Clark or Todd mountains from the Indian Lookout Trail.

The 5 cabins are near Thumper Mt. Trail. Make reservations for the log cabins up to 6 months in advance. There is a deposit equal to 2 nights rental, credited toward your rental. No personal checks; only certified checks, cashier’s checks or money orders are accepted, made payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. They are open year around, and have bunks, mattresses, woodstoves, electricity, and centralized showers and pit toilets. The cabins are not always accessible in the winter, so contact the forest office for information on snow conditions.

The 12, 789 acre forest park in the Conneticut River Valley offers yurt accommodaitons.

The park offers picnicking, fishing, hiking trails, hunting, interpretive programs, swimming and walking trials.Rates $4-$10 nightly. Pets allowed These ar domed canvas-sided cabin tents with a deck, beds, and infoor diing area.

To get to the park take route 2 to route 202 or route 12 to route 202.

The 4,221 acre park is lcoated in the Conneticut River Valley, and offers yurt rentals. The park offers picnicking, non-motirzed boating, boat ramp, canoeing, equestrian trails, fishing hiking, trails, hunting, interpretive programs and swimming.Rates $4-$10 nightly. NICKERSON STATE PARK

Take route 6 to exit 12, left off ramp, about 1 mile down on the left side.

The 1,955 acre park offers yurt rentals. The park offers picnicking, bicycling, motorized and non-motorized boating, boat ramp, canoeing, fishing, hiking, interpretive programs, swimming, and walking trails.

SAVOY MOUNTAIN STATE FOREST

This 10,000-acre forest, located in the Berkshire Mountains, features cross-country ski trails, hiking trails, snowmobiling, swimming, horseback riding and fishing. There are several cabin rentals within the forest. The forest area is closed during certain seasons, and was not available for additional information at this time.


WILLARD BROOK STATE FOREST

This 2,380-acre state forest, located in NE Massachusetts, offers cross-country skiing, swimming, snowmobiling, horseback riding, fishing, hiking trails, and cabin rentals. The 1 and 3-room log cabins have 5 cots, mattresses, table, refrigerator, water, lights, fireplaces and outdoor toilets. Cooking is on an outside fireplace. Firewood, utensils, linen not supplied. The 1 room cabins rent for $8 a day. The 3-room cabin rents for $10 a day. A11 rentals for 1-2 weeks, $20 deposit. Make checks out to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
