In the 1920’s outdoorsman and guide Long Tom Currier built 2 cabins and opened his Currier Camps to the public, serving meals in the main lodge. He also offered a guiding service. The Currier Camps are still listed as a landmark on many local maps. Stewart Young, for which the road is named, was the next owner of the camp, which he called Lakeview. He rebuilt or built cabins 1-6. In 1985 new owners took over and renamed the camp Lopstick. Lopstick is a Canadian term for a fir tree with no lower branches, with the upper branches clipped to point a certain direction. When the owners won the lottery, they sold out. The new owners too over in 1995 and they built cabins 7 and 8.

Location: The Lopstick is located in the great Northwoods of New Hampshire. The housekeeping cabins have a great view of The First Connecticut Lake and mountains. You can fish, hunt, snowmobile or view wildlife in the area. There is a professional guide service for flyfishing and upland gamebird hunting. Mountain biking is on miles of logging roads.

The unique, clean cabins are full equipped with kitchens, and come in 1, 2 or 4 bedroom units with private porches. Linen and towels provided. Cabins 1-4 and 6 are typical sporting camp cabins while #5 have a fireplace and are a cozy place. Cabins 7-8 are newer, perched on a hill overlooking the lake and mountains. The Guest House is a 2 bedroom cabin with fireplace and Jacuzzi.

Cabins #1-2, #6, and #7-8 have 2 bedrooms; Cabin #3 has 4 bedrooms; #4 has 1 bedroom, #5 with fireplace is one bedroom; Guest House has a fireplace and Jacuzzi. All are fully equipped with kitchens and utensils.

$30 for each additional guest. Children 16 and under are half price. Children 2 and under are free.
