There are 3 Wisconsin State parks with handicapped accessible cabins. The cabins are open from May 1-Oct.31. Reservations recommended. Applications for reservations must be obtained at state park offices, or by writing or calling the Department of Natural Resources. A state park visitor sticker is required to enter all State Parks.
MIRROR LAKE STATE PARK

In 1991, a barrier free log cabin was constructed and gifted to the park system from the Telephone Pioneers of America. A committee of people with disabilities designed the cabin nestled in the pines of Cliffwood campground. The 700 sq. foot cabin has asphalt-surfaced parking and paths to nearby recreation areas. A screened porch provides a panoramic view of Mirror Lake.
The cabin is equipped with small kitchen, countertops, three-burner stove, microwave and refrigerator. There is one bedroom and two single beds (one bed is automated), and a full-size sofa-sleeper in the living room. The bathroom has a wheel-in-shower, a fold down bench and shower-commode chair. A Hoyer lift is provided for use throughout the cabin. Heating and AC furnished. The cabin has a fire ring, post-mounted grill and picnic table. An accessible observation deck linked to the cabin by an asphalt walk provides great views.
The 2,000-acre park offer nature programs, hiking, boating, swimming, fishing from the pier. Mirror Lake is in the heart of many tourist attractions, including Wisconsin Dells-Lake Dalton area. There is only one cabin in the park.
KETTLE MORRAINE STATE PARK (Southern Unit)

The southern unit of Kettle Moraine offers 21,000 acres of glacial hills and lakes close to Milwaukee. This is a very popular recreational area. There is group camping, and one disability accessible cabin with similar amenities as Mirror Lake SP. In addition, there is 29,000-acres in the northern unit of Kettle Moraine with serene lakes, 133 miles of trails, fishing, Ice Age Visitor Center and other activities.
POTAWATOMI STATE PARK

On a clear day the view from the parks observation tower reaches 16 miles across Green Bay. The park offers family camping along two miles of shoreline, and one disability log cabin. The descripton of the cabin and amenities are similar to Mirror Lake. The park offers winter cross-country skiing, picnic area, concessions, nature program, canoeing, fishing, boat launch sites, nature and hiking trails, off road bicycle trails, and snowmobile trails.
